External Objects Relationships

A picture is worth a thousand words. Yes, below diagram will help us to understand the relationship types with respect to "External objects".

To create Indirect lookup relationship, first in the Standard or custom object, we need to create a "ExternalId" field and from the child(external object) we can create relationship.
