We can check the instance level information like maintenance details, patch release dates, major release dates and if there are any performance issues.
What is Instance?
1. In general words, an instance is like a sharing hostel room. Let's talk about the benefits and structure of sharing hostel room.
a. Multiple persons will share the same room.
b. Rent per head will be less.
c. Rent will be based on the facilities.
2. The above rules are applicable for salesforce Instance :
a. Multiple customers will be in the Same instance.
b. The subscription price will be less per customer.
c. The subscription is based on the editions and type of cloud.
3. Based on the region we have different names for Instances.
a. Americas (Countries like USA, Canada, Brazil etc ) => Production instance names start with NA
b. Asia Pacific (Countries like India, Japan, China, etc) => Production instance names start with AP
c. Europe (Countries like France, Germany, Italy, etc) => Production instance names start with EU(European Union).
Note: All Sandbox instance names will start with CS. (Custom sandbox)

As every new release contains newly added features, there are different stages of delivering the feature to customers.
They are as follows:
1. Pilot
2. Beta
3. GA (Generally Available)
Let us deeply dive into each stage of the Product Delivery.
1. Pilot:
=======
a) In this stage, the feature is available for a selected customer. For example, if you want to use the Salesforce feature then you need to reach out to your Account executive who will further nominate you. All nominated requests are not approved. This Program is called as R&D program.
b) There is no guarantee that these features are available in future.
c) Customers might see many bugs during this stage.
2. Beta:

a) In this stage, the feature is available to all the customers.
b) Errors reported during the 1st stage (pilot) are fixed in this phase.
c) This feature might be available to the customers in the near future.
d) There are chances of seeing the bugs during this phase as well.
3. GA: Generally available:

a) In this phase, the feature will be available to all users and it is recommended to use.
b) There are chances of seeing bugs in this phase also which might be fixed as a part of Patch releases or during upcoming Major releases.
There are two categories at this stage:
- The feature which is available might be paid.
Example: wave-analytics, Event monitoring, etc.
- Features which are available with the platform without any additional cost.
Example: SFDX, Visual Flow, Process builder, etc.
